The merchant Flanders Beauchamp purchased the old, abandoned manse on the outskirts of town. Rumors held that a party of lackluster adventurers once lived there, driven out or killed after they attempted to seize the town and make it their own. The burned-out shell of a building remained empty all these years, forgotten but for a few children who played in its wreckage.
But Flanders, seeing an oppurtunity in rebuilding, sent out members of the Stone Mason’s and Carpenter’s Guild to assess the necessary expense. Their assessment brought more than some wayward cost to his desk, it brought the tale of an underground tunnel, explosive runes, magic dust, and lights that shined so blue it seemed the light of day. They refused to work anymore until the tunnel was cleared.
Flanders’ call for a group of worthy adventurers spreads through town and country. He seeks skilled explorers, or at the very least, bold explorers, willing to risk life and limb for what is clearly a buried treasure.
